April 18th-20th
Joe Fettingis-Watercolor  "How to Put a Painting Together"

In this workshop students will learn how to understand and work with colors and values. Joe will cover how to glaze the colors and how to move the colors to create balance and movement. Time will also be spent on how to design your composition, how to control the moisture on your brush and paper, and so much more!

Pat Mink- Fiber Art " Digital Surface Design"

"From developing images or patterns in Photoshop, to prepping and printing a variety of fabrics, this workshop covers all the necessary techniques, tips and tricks for successfully printing digital imagery on fabric.

Beyond the basics, students will experiment with the variables of color management, layering, effects on different fabric surfaces, structures or fiber content, and variation in scale, while also investigating the computer as a design tool.

Mary Ann Beckwith- Water Media “Brush and Beyond”

Workshop will be an art altering experience! The energy filled days will explore creative methods of watermedia application, including texturing and the building of layers of paint.

Participants will be exposed to new techniques and materials that will allow them to better express their visions and ideas through their paintings.

Donna Zagotta: Watercolor "Adding the You Factor to Your Paintings"

The theme of this workshop is: Make your paintings more personal and creative by plugging your subjects into design. Donna will demonstrate and discuss methods and ideas that will help you turn ordinary subjects into creative and imaginative paintings.

We will focus on composition, color, and a personal and creative use of the elements and principles of design.

Elizabeth Busch: Fiber Art/Surface Design   " Enriching A Surface from Within"

Using acrylic paints, textile paints, chalk pastels, metal leaf and canvas, along with purchased fabric, we will create 3 small quilt tops (12” x 12”, 15” x15”)that focus on portraying an idea from within. Students will “make fabric” by hand painting, primarily on a 7oz.cotton duck(canvas).

I will share how I find inspiration for my quilts; we will discuss the origin of ideas for work, discuss how one piece leads to another, how to make a living as an artist.
