Ask "What if":
 Building Pathways
to Creative Work

June 7th-10th, 2010
Optional set up on June 6th 2:30pm-4:30pm
Beginning to Intermediate

Learning to ask “What if?” is one of the most important skills any artist can develop, regardless of the medium.  Being able to generate new ideas and develop a breath of ideas is the mark of a true professional.  Everyone has a lifetime of experiences and knowledge but often, some assistance is needed to tap into that knowledge and translate it into art.  Through a series of individual and interactive group exercises, Terry will focus on teaching you techniques to help you get started on a path toward more stimulating and creative ideas.  The work will be fast paced in an atmosphere of lively, yet supportive, exploration.  Through guided and self-directed exercises, you will create studies as well as completed projects.  Studio sessions will also involve group discussion and critiques.

Terry’s work has been selected for major competitive exhibitions including Visions, Artists As Quiltmaker, and Art=Quilts=Art where she was presented the Schweinfurth Award for Excellence in Design in 2007 and 2009.  Most recently she was awarded the Best of Show at Form, Not Function at the Carnegie Museum in New Albany, Indiana.
