In this Workshop students will be encouraged to simplify the subject matter through focusing on the composition, massing and placement of shapes, values and color relationships.  Working with these three main areas will allow us to identify and address each aspect of any given painting. 

All of this will be to capture an image quickly, beginning small and gradually expanding the size. We will work from reference photos and still life set-ups and use a limited palette of colors. 

 There will be daily demonstrations and lots of personal attention.

 We will be painting with oils using an odorless solvent Gamsol. All levels of experience are welcome.

 It will be a challenging but fun experience that will definitely enhance your painting abilities.
