The ancient art of Japanese Shibori is also categorized as sophisticated tie-dye. With Japanese Shibori there is always that “magical surprise” as a result of the bound –resist techniques. Even with the best planning on stitching, clamping, and shaped resist the final product results in some element of surprise! That is one of the strong appeals of Shibori.
